Enduring a divorce is likely one of the most difficult things a woman can go through in her life. Many experts equate it to the death of a spouse, and the truth isn't that far off. Mostly, getting a divorce is a loss of dreams, hopes and plans for the future. When you suddenly find yourself single, every facet of your life changes, especially if you have children. Becoming the primary caregiver can be exhausting, especially if you are a stay at home mom.
Despite the difficulties, most women come to a point where they're ready to start moving forward with their lives. This could involve a great variety of activities and actions, the least of which is a little self-reflection. When it comes to increasing your self-esteem, you can have short-term goals and long-term goals. Some of your long-term goals might include buying a home, finding a new job or losing weight. However, it's a good idea to work on some short-term goals as well. They can be motivating and give you something to get excited about while you work toward the future. Some examples might include getting a haircut, buying some new clothes or even getting a piercing or a tattoo.
You might have to be more of the adventurous type to actually consider getting a piercing, but a surprising number of single women do opt for belly button rings or tongue piercings. Tattoos are always a good option, but are quite a bit more permanent than say, belly button rings, so that's a consideration that you'll have to tackle on your own.
The best advice for newly separated or divorced women is to go outside of your norm. If you continue to do the same things, look the same way and fail to realize your goals, you're not going to find happiness. While considering belly button rings might sound like a silly suggestion, it's something easy that provides instant gratification. Plus, you can always change your mind without any lasting recourse.
